CNC Milling of a Large Welded Structure on the Matec 40P

At De Rooy, we specialize in the CNC milling, grinding, and measurement of large and heavy welded structures. Thanks to our modern machinery, which includes several 5-axis gantry milling machines, we can efficiently machine large workpieces while maintaining short lead times.

For this project, we machined a welded structure measuring 6,000 × 2,000 × 500 mm and weighing approximately 5,000 kg on our Matec 40P. A short lead time was a key requirement for this project.

During machining, the pads were precisely leveled and threaded. These precision machining operations require high dimensional accuracy and a high-quality finish. Thanks to the stability and capacity of the Matec 40P, these operations could be carried out efficiently and with high precision.

The large machine bed of the Matec 40P allows multiple workpieces to be clamped simultaneously. This enables us to make optimal use of our production capacity and to efficiently schedule projects with short lead times.
