Kehren Ri 8-4
Grinding Specialist
Since 2017, the grinding shop has been home to the Kehren Ri 8-4, a highly precise machine featuring various grinding units within its rotating head. This enables us to carry out multiple operations in a single set-up.
The machine is capable of cylindrical grinding (both inner and outer diameters) as well as face grinding. Furthermore, this advanced machine features an integrated measuring arm, allowing for in-process measurements to be carried out during the same clamping. This enables us to monitor the process effectively.
πOn this grinding machine, we process products with dimensions up to Γ1200 x 700 mm.
To expand our capacity, we have recently purchased a new model: the Kehren Ri-12. Preparations for this are already well under way. On this new Kehren, we can process products up to a diameter of Γ1500 mm.

New possibilities for large-scale CNC machining
With the arrival of the PAMA-2, we are expanding our capacity for large-scale precision machining. The machine has been specially developed for machining large machine components where dimensions, weight and accuracy are all key factors.
The PAMA-2 can machine workpieces up to:
- Maximum dimensions: 14,000 x 4,650 x 2,850 mm
- Maximum weight: up to 50 tonnes per workpiece
Thanks to this capability, we are able to support OEMs and machine builders on projects where large dimensions and high quality standards are key.
Heavy-duty machining with high precision
A large milling machine must not only have sufficient capacity, but also offer the precision required by modern industries. When machining large and heavy components, dimensional accuracy, stability and a controlled process are essential.
The PAMA-2 enables us to machine large machine components efficiently and accurately. This makes the machine suitable for applications in sectors such as mechanical engineering, energy, offshore and other industrial sectors.
Investing in our manufacturing capacity
The addition of the PAMA-2 to our machine fleet marks the next step in our development as specialists in heavy-duty machining and precision machining.
By investing in modern CNC technology, we continue to support our customers with extensive capabilities for machining large components. From heavy-duty frames to complex machine parts: the PAMA-2 offers the capacity and precision required to meet the challenges of the industry.
From installation to production
The time-lapse video of the installation clearly shows just how much knowledge, teamwork and craftsmanship are required to get a machine of this size up and running. Every component was carefully fitted and checked before the first operations could begin.
The PAMA-2 is now fully integrated into our production process and is ready for new projects that combine large format and precision.

From the foundation to a fully operational milling machine
Over the past few months, we have been working hard to build this machine. The process began with preparing the foundation, which involved cutting out the existing floor and installing the rebar. Next, the concrete was poured, and the machine could then be assembled step by step. It was an intensive process in which various disciplines worked closely together to get the UNIPORT 6000 ready for production.
The entire construction process has been captured in a time-lapse video. It clearly shows how the machine evolves from the initial work on the foundation into a fully operational milling machine.
Suitable for large workpieces
The UNIPORT 6000 milling machine is suitable for the precise machining of large workpieces with maximum dimensions of:
- 8,000 Γ 3,500 Γ 1,300 mm
With this expansion, we now have additional capacity for CNC milling of large and complex parts. This allows us to better support our customers with both one-off and production-run machining, without compromising on the quality and precision that De Rooy Precision stands for.
Continue to Invest in the Future
The commissioning of our fifth UNIPORT 6000 is in line with our ambition to continue investing in capacity, quality, and delivery reliability. By continuously expanding our machine fleet, we are prepared to meet the growing demand for the machining of large and complex workpieces and can continue to provide our customers with the quality and flexibility they have come to expect from De Rooy Precision.
Curious about how the machine was assembled? Watch the time-lapse video and see how the fifth UNIPORT 6000 was assembled, step by step, into a fully operational milling machine.
Manufacturing such components demands the highest standards of precision and reliability. With decades of expertise in boring operations, we consistently achieve exceptional accuracy and repeatability.
As a trusted supplier to the high-tech machinery industry, De Rooy offers more than just precision boring. Our capabilities include grinding, milling, and advanced measurement, ensuring complete process control and quality assurance across every stage of production.
De Rooy Precision support OEMs and system suppliers seeking machining capacity for large high-precision components.
PAMA Milling Beast
We are proud to present the first images of our new machine, a PAMA Vertiram 2000. What a sight this 5-axis simultaneous gantry milling machine with 4 interchangeable milling heads is.
With this latest addition (delivery Q1 2021), we can mill workpieces weighing up to 50 tonnes with maximum dimensions of 14m x 4.6m x 2.8m with an accuracy of < 0.01mm.
